Privacy Policy – Protokey App

Protecting your personal data is very important to us. The Protokey app was designed so that no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted to external servers.

Data Processing

The Protokey app does not process personal user data.

In particular, the app does not use:

• user accounts or registration
• cloud services or external servers
• analytics or tracking services
• advertising or profiling mechanisms

All content created within the app (such as protocol texts, templates, and free text) remains stored locally on the user’s device.

Bluetooth Connection

The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) exclusively to transmit text content to an external Protokey hardware device.

• No data is stored on the Protokey device
• Transmitted content is output only as USB keyboard input to a target system
• No connection to external servers is established at any time

Data Retention

All data created within the app remains on the user’s device until it is deleted by the user or the app is removed.

Permissions

The app only requires technically necessary permissions:

• Bluetooth access – required to connect to the Protokey device

These permissions are not used for tracking, analytics, or advertising.

Data Sharing

No personal data is shared with third parties.

User Rights

Since no personal data is processed or stored, there are generally no data records subject to access, correction, or deletion requests under the GDPR.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated if the technical functionality of the app changes.
